DO YOU NEED STRENGTH?

There are times when we are running well and getting a lot accomplished in our own efforts and control. We may be on “top of the world” and feeling great, and then, something happens and we lose our strength and our hope. It can be sudden or gradual, but we finally start giving up. All the running on our own has worn us out. We feel alone as we have been striving to be the best by ourself. Or maybe someone we depended on has let us down and we find ourselves feeling insecure once again. Alone, insecure, and weak is not what God wants for us. He wants to be our strength as we rely on Him in all areas of our life!

Are you one who tries to do it all by yourself? Do you rely solely on others for your joy and security? It is easy to be either of these types of people when we are working in our own strength and are trying to please people. God wants you to look up to Him for your strength so He can lift you up to higher ground. He takes away your worries and weakness and gives you peace and joy no matter what you are facing. He will turn your weariness into perseverance and your insecurity into wholeness as He guides you every step of the way!

Dear Lord,

I have found myself trying too hard to please people rather than please You, my audience of one. I am worn out and weary from trying to do it in my own efforts. As I read Your treasure of truth in HABAKKUK 3:19, “GOD, THE LORD, IS MY STRENGTH; HE MAKES MY FEET LIKE THE DEER’S; HE MAKES ME TREAD ON MY HIGH PLACES”, I am encouraged to get my strength for the stretch from You, Lord! I will tread securely with You as only You can lift me up eternally. I will rely on  You, Lord, as I work faithfully and swiftly with Your infusion of power and grace. I will let go and let You lead me each step of the way as I run steady and strong with You to the finish line!

In Jesus name,

Amen
