DO YOU NEED GUIDANCE FOR HOW YOU WILL ANSWER?

Our words can build others up or they can tear them down. Words we speak come out of our mouth from the thoughts that are in our minds and in our hearts. The tongue can bring life or death to those around us. We see many people today hurting because of what someone spoke to them. This pain can scar people for a lifetime. As we pray for guidance from our Lord before we speak, He will direct our hearts and our mouths to speak words out of love. In this world where social media is a popular form of communication, we need even more guidance before we write. Words written out of love and kindness are so encouraging to our hearts. But words written out of bitterness or offense are so damaging to our souls. We need to pray about how we will answer before we speak or write. 

Do you need help about how you will answer? Have you felt an attack upon you and need to know what to say? Have you been hurt deeply by something that was spoken about you? Are you tempted to lash out at your accuser? Do you hope to respond out of respect and love, but just cannot find the words? Come to the Lord for His guidance. Only the Lord can take away the pain you feel after you have been hurt. He will give you the right words to say in every situation if you will stop and pray before you respond. He might just want you to be silent right now. But, you must be still and listen to His heart to know what is best. PRAY to find the WAY!

Dear Lord,

I need Your guidance about how I will respond. I know that You will give me the right words to say as I pray. The Holy Spirit will direct my thoughts and my words that will encourage and not tear down. You have given me hope as I read Your treasure of truth in PSALM 19:14,

“LET THE WORDS OF MY MOUTH AND THE MEDIATION OF MY HEART BE ACCEPTABLE IN YOUR SIGHT,O LORD,MY ROCK AND REDEEMER.”

I pray that the words that flow out of my mouth will be acceptable and honorable to You. Fill my heart with more of Your love so that I can answer with love. I want to please You in all that I say and do. Help me to be a light of love in this darkened world so that I can live and speak out of Your love which has restored and redeemed me!
