Wake Up to God's Presence

Each morning I cannot wait to wake up and spend the morning with only Jesus in the word and with my favorite cup of coffee. I need a little bit of coffee and A LOT OF JESUS to start my day right! On this particular morning in November while the sun was rising, I saw the presence and favor of God in the fog rolling on the lake. My heart jumped with joy because I had just been reading about the presence of God being like a cloud, fog and smoke in the days of Moses. In fact, I had been reading about the Ark of the Covenant which housed the presence of God. In those days, only the Holy Priests could enter the Temple and the presence of God as they offered the sacrifices to God.

Today, however, I was reminded that we can all see and experience His presence when we choose to let Him in our lives by believing in His Son Jesus and receiving His gift of the Holy Spirit. His fog, which I like to call favor of God (FOG), is on those who choose to live in the presence of the Lord.

“Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

Yes, I felt the FOG all over me that morning as I remembered that God wants to bless me with His favor as a shield. I was surrounded by the favor of God because I woke up to His glory and spent time in His word and prayer that day wanting more of His presence in my life. I will never forget the warm feeling of love that covered me that cold morning in November.

My heart and soul rejoiced as I knew that I could make my sacrifice anytime and any day that I wanted unlike the people living in the days of Moses. I can make my sacrifice because Jesus, my living sacrifice, allowed me to come into the presence of the living God any time. I am blessed because I am in the presence and favor of God and He showed up in my life through the FOG!

“O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning, I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.” Psalm 5:3
